CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Meeting Date: Agenda Item # ~ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Changes to the NC Local Government Debt Setoff Clearinghouse Program <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: To approve the recent legislation permitting charging the debtor a <br />$15 collection assistance fee, beginning January 1, 2003. The clearinghouse will add the fee <br />to the debt amounts submitted by the participating local governments. This fee will be <br />collected as part of the debt and remitted to the Clearinghouse. <br /> <br />Authorize the Chairman and County Manager to execute the Local Collection Assistance Fee Rider, <br />the Multiple Unit Collection Rider and other required documents associated with the NC Local <br />Government Debt Setoff Clearinghouse Program.
