Major Similarities/Differences: <br />Article 5 of the UDO combines the established regulations present in Chapter 7 <br />Performance Based Standards, and Chapter 8 Conditional Uses of the existing <br />ordinance in a clear and well organized fashion. <br /> <br />5.1- General Provisions-describes applicabili~ o.f supplemental regulations, UDO <br />provides less procedural detail than the-' existing ordinance because this <br />information is presented in Article 3. <br /> <br />5.2- Accessory Use and Structures-UDO expands permitted accessory uses and <br />presents them in an organized manner, these uses are absent or unorganized in <br />existing ordinance. <br /> <br />5.3- Accessory Dwelling Units- Same; UDO limits number of units to (1) per lot <br />and increases allowable size to 50% of principal structure or 1,100 square foot <br />gross whichever is less. <br /> <br />5.4- Animal Regulations- Same;UDO is more explicit. <br /> <br />5.5- Animal Boarding/Storage Uses- Same; UDO is more explicit. <br /> <br />5.6- Motor Vechicle Sale/Rental Lots- Same; UDO is more explicit. <br /> <br />5.7- Bed and Breakfast ]nns- Same; UDO is more explicit. <br /> <br />5.8- Campgrounds- New in UDO. <br /> <br />5.9- Cemeteries and Crematories- Same; UDO is more explicit and contain <br />regulation pursuant to NCGS 90-210.43. <br /> <br />5.10- Convenience Stores- Same;UDO is more explicit and combines stores with <br />or without gasoline sales. <br /> <br />5.11- Hazardous Waste Facilities- new in UDO <br /> <br />5.12- Home Occupations- Same; UDO provides additional rural occupations and <br />provisions for the expiration of home occupation permit. <br /> <br />5.13- 3unkyards/Heavy Equipment/:[ndustrial Storage- new in UDO. <br /> <br />5.14- Demolition Landfills- Same; UDO is more explicit. <br /> <br /> <br />
