<br />Services to be provided through EA are as follows: Automobile related items
<br />(help with down payment, help with one monthly payment where essential, tax,
<br />tag, tire, insurance), car repairs, tires, registration for child care, child care parent
<br />fees, adult day care, mental/physical evaluations not covered by medicaid or
<br />insurance, over the counter drugs and prescription drugs when not covered by
<br />medicaid or insurance, clothing for interviews or employment, camps, client
<br />training, education fees, books, and tuition, parenting classes, haircuts,
<br />permanents, or other personal appearance items, cash incentives or certificates,
<br />dental expenses not covered by medicaid or insurance, work licenses or
<br />registrations, space or storage rental fees, tutors, relocation assistance, health
<br />insurance premium, physical exams for work, small business start-up expenses,
<br />eye exams and/or glasses when not covered by medicaid or insurance, DMV ID
<br />cards or Drivers' licenses, tools, home study fees, criminal and/or medical records
<br />checks, work equipment, transportation needs including bus fares, bicycles,
<br />helmets, mopeds, taxi fees, gas and other fluids, drivers' education fees,
<br />emergency housing for victims of family violence, temporary housing for
<br />displaced families, temporary in-home care for ill family member when not
<br />covered by medicaid or insurance, rental expenses (including deposits),
<br />employment related expenses, telephone deposits and service charges, prosthesis
<br />when not covered by medicaid or insurance, housing costs including closing fees,
<br />car seats, counseling including marital, mental, domestic violence, family, and
<br />financial, clothing, household items, utility expenses and deposits, appliances,
<br />furniture, enrollment fees for NC Health Choice for Children, legal fees in
<br />connection with guardianship, custody, adoptions.

<br />Services for Families with Income at or Below 200% of Poverty Level
<br />
<br />Cabarrus County will provide services to families with income at or below 200% of
<br />the poverty level during FY 2001-03. The purpose of these services will be to assist
<br />families in obtaining or maintaining stable employment and avoiding the potential for
<br />welfare dependency. Services provided to families will be used to meet state MOE
<br />requirements. The following services will be available to families in this category:
<br />1. A full family assessment by a social worker to determine what the needs of the
<br /> family actually are.
<br />2. A referral to and assistance with obtaining new or upgraded employment through
<br /> interviews with ESC donsultants.
<br />3. Assistance with time-limited transportation services.
<br />4. Assistance with one-time work related expenses.
<br />5. Social work services to assist the family in stabilizing their situation.
<br />6. Budgetary counseling by a qualified professional.
<br />7. Depending on income, assistance with one-time financial assistance programs,
<br /> such as General Assistance, Emergency Assistance, CIP, or LIEAP.
<br />8. If during the assessment, a domestic violence situation is suspected and
<br /> confirmed, the individual will be referred to the Cabarrus Victims' Assistance
<br /> Network (CVAN) for assessment, counseling, and possible shelter.
