A~a¢~ment A <br /> <br />EMPLOYMENT SECURITY, COMMISSION OF NC <br /> INTERVIEWER I. POSITIONS <br /> <br />A contract will exist between the Employment Security Commission of <br />NC and the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services for the <br />purchase of the services of (2) two ESC st~ff persons, both Employment <br />Interviewer I's. They will be stationed at the Cabm'~us County <br />Department of Social Services and will be responsible for providing job <br />development and placement, job search, on-the- job trainkng, 1~t Stop <br />registration and Grant Diversion services for clients participating in the <br />Work First Program, and Welfare to Work Program. <br /> <br />SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS: <br /> <br />1. Job Development and Placement: <br /> <br />Job Development & Placement is an activity in which the ESC staff <br />persons engage in activities on behalf of Work First and WtW <br />participants for the purpose of developing job opportunities. <br /> <br />2. Job Search: <br /> <br />Job Search is a structured and well-defined period of time when Work <br />First, WtW, Non-Custodial Parents, and 200% participants conduct <br />an employment search. Job search ig conducted on an individual <br />basis. The ESC workers will provide the counseling and teaching of <br />job-seeking sldlls needed to support the employment search, and can <br />include telephoning potential employers. <br /> <br />In addition, as part of job search, the ESC workers will have regular <br />contacts with participants in order to send them on job referrals as <br />well as monitor their individual job search. The ESC workers'will <br />randomly follow-up with employers to monitor compliance with <br />program requirements. <br /> <br />3. On-the-Job Training and Grant Diversion: <br /> <br />The ESC workers should consider any referred Work First, WOW or <br />WtW client as a potential OdT participant. In addition, the ESC <br />workers should Consider the potential for Grant Diversion, where the <br />client's cash assistance and/or Food Stamp allotment is diverted to <br />an employer as a wage supplement. <br /> <br /> <br />
