Little Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Construction Bids for Stonewall Jackson Soccer Complex <br />(Elements- clearing, grading, erosion control, drainage system, and <br />stone-base parking lots) <br /> <br />This memorandum is in reference to the construction bids for the Stonewall <br />Jackson Soccer complex which includes the clearing, grading, erosion control, <br />drainage system and stone base for the parking lots. Formal advertisement was <br />published for this bid on February 14, 2001 in The Charlotte Observer. Thirty <br />one bid packets were picked up by grading companies. On February 28, 2001, <br />twenty-two grading company representatives attended a pre-bid conference. <br /> <br />On March 7, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. ten formal bids were received and opened <br />publicly. The attached sheet is a summary of these bids. The base bid consists <br />of: clearing and grading, earth work, erosion control, storm drainage, stone base <br />(parking lots), site seeding, fencing (tower area), and estimate for unsuitable soil <br />and rock. Alternate #1 is to strip and stock pile topsoil and spread over playing <br />surfaces of soccer fields; Alternate #2 is to install storm drainage and associated <br />grading to improve water drainage. <br /> <br /> <br />
