Evans, Secretary <br />Department of Cultural <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing Transfer of Suzplus Ambulance to the C~arrus Rescue <br />S~uad <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Co~issioner Privette with <br />Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Commissioners Privette a~d Suggs <br />voting for, the Board adopted the following Resolution authorizing the <br />transfer of a 1996 Ford E-350 ambulance to the Cabarrus Rescue Squad. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2001-09 <br /> STATE OF North Carolina ) <br /> ) RESOLUTION <br />CABABRUS COUNTY ) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County has one (1) 1996 Ford' E-350 Ambulance Type <br />III, vehicle identification number 1FDKE30FgTHB40758; and, <br /> WHERF~%S, this Board desires to dispose of the above referenced <br />equipment; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A, Article 12 sets forth <br />procedures and requirements for counties in selling and disposing of <br />property. Procedures include private negotiation and sale, sale by sealed <br />bids, auction, upset bids, and exchanges; and, <br /> WREREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A-279 ~rovides that any <br />governmental unit may convey personal property to any other entity carrying <br />out a public purpose, without compensation. <br /> NOW TBERSFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus <br />County as follows: <br /> That in accordance with the provisions of General Statute 160A-267, <br />this Board authorizes the County Purchasing Agent to dispose of the above <br />referenced personal property no earlier than ten {1'0) days after a notice <br />summarizing the contents of the resolution is published once. Also, pursuant <br />to General Statute 160A-279, the aforementioned personal property may be <br />conveyed to the C~barrus Rescue Squad without compensation. <br /> Adopted this 21'= day of May 2001. <br /> /s/ Arne L. BONDS, CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> <br />Granting of ~/ght-of-Way and Easement (U~ility Easementt Spring street) to <br />the Cit~ of Concord <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette with <br />Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Con~issioners Privette and Suggs <br />voting for, the Board granted a Right-of-Way and Easement (utility Easement, <br />Spring Street) across County property in No. 12 Township to the City of <br />Concord and authorized the County Manager to execute the Right-of-Way and <br />Easement on behalf of the County. <br /> <br />Awar~ of Contract ($29f500.00) to Asbestos Tec. hnolo~ies for P~moval of <br />Asbestos 14aterial from the First Union Build/~ <br /> <br /> The following bids were received by Mr. Mike Downs, Development <br />Services Director, for the removal of asbestos materials 'from the First Union <br />Building on South Union Street: Asbestos Technologies ($29,500.00); Concord <br />Asbestos Abatement {$34,650.00); Contaminant Control ($43,250.00}; and QESI <br />($61,862.00) . <br /> <br /> UPON ~OTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Comm/ssioner Privette with <br />Chairman Fennel, Vice Chairman Carruth and Commissioners Privette and Suggs <br />voting for, the Board awarded the contract for the removal of asbestos <br />materials from the First Union Building to the iow bidder, Asbestos <br />Technologies, in the-amount of $29,500.00 and authorized the County Manager <br />to sign the "acceptance" of the proposal from Asbestos Technologies. <br /> <br /> <br />
