Re-bidding may produce a lower project cost, but there is no guarantee. There will be a delay in timing of two +/- weeks to re-bid. BID AWARD AND PROJECT BUDGET ORDINANCE (pending action taken by the Board on Item 1) A Project Budget Ordinance denoting intended sources of funding is provided for Board action. (Budget Amendments as provided.) The bid summary and project architect recommendations are provided for action. NOTE: Selected alternatives do impact the bid award. Co The original project construction estimates developed in April by the architect are included. Some elements of the project are not included in this phase of the bids. A second phase of bidding will include the maintenance building and fencing along with walkway construction. (Specialty equipment/machinery for the project along with tables, chairs, etc. will also be bid separately.) COLOR SCHEME SELECTION - LARC The consultant will present alternative color scheme choices for the County Commission's review. You are to determine which scheme will be used for the project exteriors. Orders will need to be placed early in the project to assure timely delivery of materials. POTENTIAL RELOCATION OF EXHIBIT HALL BUILDING Staff review inclusive of market analysis underway by Mark Chappuis indicates that we may want to consider a shift in location for the 40,000 SF exhibit building to increase accessibility to parking and put it closer to the event center. Staff will present drawings depicting an alternative to the current proposal and estimated design costs to accomplish the changes. Mark Chappuls has been reviewing all of the design elements and feels strongly that the exhibit building offers significant use options (fee based) to warrant serious consideration of relocating the building on site or as an alternative creating additional parking closer to the exhibit building for accessibility. We will present this information for your review and consideration.
