3. Notification. The County will notify all other local governmental agencies (i.e., <br />ARC of Cabarrus County, Piedmont Rehabilitation Development Center, YMCA, Cabarrus <br />Workshop, Cabarrus County Group Homes, Concord Parks and Recreation Department, and any <br />other departments within the County structure) that have historically participated in the Program <br />of the change in administration of the Program and shall reasonably assist the Schools in <br />soliciting their continued support, both physically and monetarily. <br /> <br /> 4. Compensation. The County will compensate the Schools for its services <br />hereunder a sum of Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) per year, for each of the five <br />(5) years of the Initial Full Term (for a six month term - January 1, 2000 through June 30, 2000, <br />Cabarrus County will compensate Schools for twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) in advance for <br />these services). The fee for each fiscal year will be paid in advance to the Schools on or before <br />July 15 of each respective year. However, in the event this Agreement is terminated during a <br />fiscal year by the Schools, the Schools shall promptly reimburse the County for any unused fees <br />on a prorata basis. In any year during the term of this agreement, if it should appear that the <br />annual compensation is insufficient for the operation of the program, then the Schools may <br />request additional funding from the county as needed, subject to the approval the Board of <br />County Commissioners and the Board of Education. <br /> <br /> 5. Support. The County will provide the schools with maintenance setup support <br />from the Cabarrus County Property Maintenance Department, through support and provision of <br />tents, stages, snowfences, lining off, and other spring games preparations, consistent with the <br />past maintenance of the program. <br /> <br /> 6. Transportation. The County will make available Cabarrus County Transportation <br />vans for Special Olympics activities and programs. <br /> <br />SCHOOLS RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br /> 1. Quality. The Schools will continue the Program in a mariner meeting or <br />exceeding the quality of the past administration of the Program by the County. <br /> <br /> 2. Finances. The Schools will assume all financial responsibilities for the Program, <br />subject to the limitations enumerated in Item 4 of the COUNTY OBLIGATIONS section above, <br />and supply the County with a current financial statement of the Program upon request. The <br />Schools Special Olympics coordinator shall assume financial responsibilities relating to the <br />North Carolina Special Olympics State Pool Banking Account. <br /> <br /> 3. General Responsibilities. The Schools will be responsible for the overall <br />organization of the Program, as well as for any liabilities attendant to the Program and <br />implementation of the Program during the entire term of this agreement. <br /> <br /> 4. Cooperation. The parties will maintain an open line of communication regarding <br />the Program and agree that any complications which arise will be addressed in writing to the <br />other party's representative at the address provided herein. <br /> <br /> <br />
