Cabarrus County
Sheriff's Office
Robert M. Canaday, Sheriff

On the Retirement of

Sergeant Larry J. Hinson
Deputy Sheriff- Cabarrus County

12-13-J971 <> 04-06-2000

Sergeant Larry J. Hinson began his career with the Cabarrus County Sheriff's
Office on December 13, 1971.

During the time Sergeant Hinson has been with the department he has served in
the Patrol, Communications and Jail divisions.

In addition to many hours of specialized training in various law enforcement
areas, Sergeant Hinson has obtained his Associates Degree in Police Science since
joining the department.

Sergeant Hinson is married and he and his wife, Brenda, have one daughter and
two grandchildren.

Larry is the kind of individual who has always been willing to take on new and
demanding tasks and has pe~ormed them in an exemplary manner.

His dedication to serving the citizens of Cabarrns Connty as a deputy sheriff is
exemplified by the fact that subsequent to suffering a major heart related illness a
number of years ago he battled back, recovered and has continued to stay and work
diligently with the department for many years.

Larry has been a key employee, serving as a shift supervisor in the jail and he
will be missed.

Along the way Larry picked up the nickname of"Shotgun" which I will not
elaborate on here.

We will miss Larry and wish him well in his retirement years.

P,O.
