NORTH CAROLINA CABARRUS COUNTY DRAFT THIS LEASE, made and entered into this the __ day of ,2000, by and between the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of Cabarms County, North Carolina, a body of corporate and politic, hereinafter called "the County" or "Cabarrus County", and HISTORIC CABARRUS, INC., a non-profit corporation organized aR, d existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina, having its principal office in the City of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, hereinafter called "Historic Cabarms:; WITNESSETH: that -- WHEREAS, the County has determined that the property hereinafter described, known as the "Historic Cabarms County Courthouse", will not be needed by the County for the term of this lease; and that it is in the best interest of the County to enter into this Lease Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PREMISES AND OF THE AGREEMENTS HEREINAFTER SET OUT TO BE DONE AND PERFORMED BY HISTORIC CABARRUS, the County does hereby demise and lease unto Historic Cabarrus the following described property: Lying and being in Ward No. 3 of the City of Concord, North Carolina, on the eas~ side of South Union Street and on the south side of Means Avenue and being the lot upon which the old Cabarms County Courthouse is located and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the southeast intersection of South Union Street and Means Avenue and running thence with Means Avenue in an easterly direction to a point; thence in a southerly direction parallel with and 40 feet from the rear wall of the Historic Cabarms County Courthouse to a point; thence in a westerly direction along a line midway between the south wall of the Historic Cabarrus County Courthouse and the edge of the bottom step on the north side of the new Cabarrus County Courthouse to a point in the east edge of South Union
