FISHERTOWN CDBG PROJECTS

Cabarrus County has been fortunate to be awarded 3 CDBG Grants in the Fishertown
area. Prior to any CDB(3 activity the County ran a public water system to serve the entire
community.

CDBG #1 $500,000 £undcd.

Installed gravity sewer from outfall on Irish Buffalo Creek approximately 1/2 mile to the
east side of the Fishertown community and along Marion, Macon, Atlanta, Athens,
Charleston and Wigs Streets and connected 37 homes to sewer.

This grant rehabilitated 30 homes.

CDBG #2 $180,000 £undcd.

Since a ridge runs north - south through the entirety of Fishertown we had to install a
pump station near the intersection of Macon Street and Charlie Walker Road. A tbrce
main was installed along Macon Street to dump the sewage into the gravity line installed
in CDBG #1. A gravity line was installed along that portion of Macon Street that flowed
back into the pump station and 5 homes were connected to the sewer.

CDBG #3 $650,000 fundcd.

Gravity sewer was installed along Chaflie Walker Road and Princeton Avenue and
connected to the pump station installed in CDBG #2. Thirty-nine homes were connected
to the gravity lines.

Thirty-nine homes were rehabilitated during this CDBG grant.

Totals:

$1,330,000 CDBG funds. Approximatcly $1,000,000 County Funds.

81 homes connected to sewer.
69 homes rehabilitated.
