The proposed plan included the following block grant funding and <br />required local match. <br /> <br /> Block Grant USDA Required Local <br />sgrvices Fundino subsidy <br />Demartment of A~in~: <br />Information/Case Assistance $ 37,221 $ 4,136 <br />Transportation 93,509 10,390 <br />Adult Day Care 121,978 13,553 <br />Adult Day Health 6,000 667 <br />Housing/Home Improvement 30,518 3,391 <br />In-Home II 34,328 3,814 <br />Congregate Meals 113,707 $38,909 12,634 <br />Supplemental - Cong 10~885 4,593 1,209 <br />Denartment of Social Services~ <br />In-Home II 103.330 11.481 <br /> TOTAL $551,476 $43,902 $ 61,275 <br /> <br />Foster Csre Proclamation <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Co~mmissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br />PROCLA~4ATION OF FOSTER CARE MONTH, 2000 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the family, serving as the primary source of love, security <br />and support, is the very foundation of our communities and our State; and <br /> W~ER~AS~ in Cabarrus County, the lives of many children and families <br />are disrupted each year by crisis or conflicts in their homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, in Cabarrus County, there are over one hundred children in <br />foster homes and group homes who through no fault of their o~rn have been <br />deprived of a normal home relationship; and <br /> WHEREAS, forty-three licensed foster homes in our county respond to the <br /> needs of children by providing love, care and guidance until the children <br /> return to ~heir own families or move to other permanent homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, foster families are an invaluable resource and perform an <br />extraordinary service by working ih partnership with agencies to nurture <br />children and provide an opportunity for healthy growth and development; and <br /> WHEREAS, our Social Service agency is finding it more difficult to <br />provide an adequate number of foster parents to meet the needs of these <br />children; and <br /> WHERF~S, we should honor these men and women for providing love, <br />attention and support to these children and their families in need; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I proclaim May, 2000 as <br /> FOSTER PA/~ENT MONTH, 2000 IN C;%8ARRUS COUNTY. <br />Adopted this the 15=h day of May, 2000. <br /> <br />/s/ Arne L.
