Section 5 <br />Solid Waste Management Methods <br /> <br />Mulching <br />Current Program: The County and each municipality offer mulching services in <br />essentially the same fashion as composting services listed above. <br /> <br />Intended Actions: Current programs will remain in effect for the County and the <br />municipalities. <br /> <br />5.6 Incineration with Energy Recovery <br />Current Program: Incineration with energy recovery is not part of the County's <br />current program. <br /> <br />Intended Actions: The County does not plan to use incineration with energy <br />recovery. <br /> <br />5.7 Incineration without Energy Recovery <br />Current Program: Incineration without energy recovery is not part of the County's <br />current program. <br /> <br />Intended Actions: The County does not intend to use incineration without energy <br />recovery. <br /> <br />5.8 Transfer of Solid Waste Outside Geographic Area <br />Current Program: Private hauling firms contracted by commercial, industrial and <br />institutional waste generators haul some waste outside of the County although a <br />portion is disposed of at the LMS landfill. Two transfer stations are used to distribute <br />a portion of the waste to other landfills. In addition, a Materials Recovery Facility <br />(MRF) accepts some waste to be sorted and sent to recycling facilities. <br /> <br />Disposal destinations and total tonnage for 1998 - 1999 are summarized in Table 9. <br /> <br />Table 9.
