The residents subscribing to collection service <br />are charged a fee of $31.23 per cart per quarter and $22.50 per quarter for a second <br />cart. Collection costs for the town of Harrisburg are $6.43 per household per month <br />as designated in the contract with North Mecklenburg Sanitation. Their waste <br />reduction cost (once per week curbside collection of recyclables) is $1.45 per <br />household per month. Residents of Karmapolis are charged a collection fee of $4.91 <br />per household per month for solid waste collection. Drop centers are currently being <br />used for the collection of recyclables, although curbside collection may be <br />implemented in the future. Mount Pleasant residents pay a fee of $3.90 per household <br />per month for solid waste collection, and $2 for the collection of recyclables. The fees <br />for each area are detailed in the Table below. <br /> <br />Table 12. The sale of <br />recyclables also generates revenues for the County.
