Kay Robinette
Department of Social Services
Retirement: 7-28-00

In every department you will have people who stand out; some for job
knowledge and skills, some for positive attitude and good teamwork, some
for excellent customer service and some who have all of these qualities.
Kay Robinette was that employee. Her contributions to Cabarms County in
her 25 years of service are outstanding. She produced her work accurately
and timely. She reviewed payments carefully to assure they were correct
and reimbursement was received. Often she initiated new and improved
methods that the state put into practice. The State Division of Social
Services recognized her as an expert in developing and implementing
procedures in the child foster care program.

Kay began her work with Cabarrus Depat-hnent of Social Services on
November 1, 1975. For the next twenty years she worked in eligibility
intake and processing applications for families and children. In 1996 she
moved from that position to the Child Welfare Division. She loved helping
children and in this position she did all of the Medicaid applications and
foster care payments for children who came into the Department's custody.
She also handled the agency adoption assistance program. Each year she
would touch the lives of OVer 200 special needs children through her work.

Not only did she excel in her job ~luties, she volunteered to serve on
agency committees to enhance our working environment. Her positive
attitude was contagious and she never hesitated to bring problems to the
attention of the administration but always in a positive manner. Her
professionalism was constant. Her dedication to her work was exemplary.

She will be greatly missed but we wish her well in her retirement.
