NORTH CAIIOLINA <br /> <br />August9,2000 <br /> <br />To; <br /> <br />Cabarrus.County Manager <br />Cabarrus County Deputy Manager <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Mr. Steve L, Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Agreement to Modify and Amend Lease Agreement between <br />Cabarrus County and Church of God Children's Home of North <br />Carolina. <br /> <br />On June 29, 2000, the Chumh of God Children's Home of North Carolina Board <br />of Directors approved the attached amended lease agreement between Cabarrus <br />County and Church of God Children's Home of North Carolina. This amended <br />lease agreement will allow a new and safer roadway to the proposed North <br />Cabarrus Park. With the joint planning by City of Kannapolis, Cabarrus County <br />and North Carolina Department of Transportation, a traffic light has been <br />proposed for the new intersection of Orphanage Road and Oakwood Avenue. <br />This new traffic light will greatly enhance traffic safety, especially when the <br />access to the new park is opened. On Friday, August 4, North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation officials approved for funds to construct this <br />proposed traffic signal. <br /> <br />On behalf of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department, I would like <br />to publicly express appreciation to the Church of God Children's Home of North <br />Carolina Board of Directors for their approval of this amended lease agreement, <br />which will allow for a safer entry as well as better visibility to the Park.
