MIDLAND, NORTH CAROLINA 28107

September 1, 2000

Ron Harwood
EMS Director
31 W[llowbrook
Concord, NC 28107

DearMr. Harwood,

As you know we operate a ambulance certified at the hasic level, due to the distance f~om
the Midland Fire District to Northeast Medical Cemer, we feel this service is needed and
justified. With the growth our area is currently experiencing and projected growth patterns
for the southern end of Cabarrus County, we need to update our ambulance.

Our protocol for transporting is to remain the same as it has since we started operating a
certified ambulance in November, 1987.

We are requesting unit 941 which is scheduled to come offline sometime in September.
Our current ambulance is a 1989 Ford E-350, that we paid a sum of 12,000.00 dollars to
Cabarrus County in Febuary, 1996. Ifthls transaction is agreeable, we will be willing to
turn our current ambulance over to another agency in Cabarms County at no charge.

Sincerely,

Alien Burnette, Chief
Midland Fire & Rescue

cc: Frank W. Cliiton
Cabarms County Manager
