After 20+ years of providing county resi- <br />dents of all ages with quality, affordable, instruc- <br />tional programming -- ranging from fitness and <br />dance to the arts and magic, as well as Special <br />Olympics and Senior Games, beginning in July <br />2000 CCPRD no longer offers these programs to <br />the community. "Good homes" have been found for <br />all these programs and they are continuing with the <br />City of Concord Parks & Recreation Department, <br />the Cannon Memorial YMCA, Cabarrus County <br />Schools, and the Mt. A wide range of <br />tasks are performed including pruning, mulching, <br />spraying, and installation and removal of plants. <br />Some limited construction is provided, such as . <br />building retaining walls, installation of irrigation, <br />drainage and pipes. <br /> <br />Projects for 1999-2000 included: <br /> Bid package to contract mowing and turf improve- <br /> ments for all county properties <br />· Installation of irrigation system on #3 ballfield at <br /> Frank Liske Park <br />'~ Landscaping and construction of retaining wall at <br /> Kannapotis Library <br />· Landscaping of Corban Avenue parking lot <br />° Installation of split-rail fence at Human Services and <br /> Senior Center trails <br />° Drainage control at W. The process <br />should take approximately nine (9) months and <br />includes a public opinion survey and opportunities <br />for public input.
