PLANNING & C,D, DEPT, 70¢7950983 No,8300 P, 2 BETWEEN THE crrY OF CONCORD, THE CITY OF KANNAPOLIS, TOWN OF HARRISBURG, THE'TOWN OF,MOUNT PLEASANT AND CABARRU8 COUNTY REGARDING PROCEDURE8 FOR REVIEWING AND AMENDING THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE MEMORANDI.TI~I OF UNDERSTANDING ~~ Whereas, Cabarrus County, the City of Concorcl, the City of Kannapoli$, the Town of Harrisburg, and the Tovm of Mount Pleasant, ~re experiencing rapid tFowih as part of thc Charlotte metropolitan region; and Whereas, the elected officials of C~arms County, the City of Concord, the City of Kannapclis, the Town of Harrisburg and the Town of Mount Pleesant' recognized the need for an up-to-date, standardized and conzist~nt code of land ci~elopm~nt regulations for use in managing iImwth throughout the local govomment jurisdictions; and Whereas, the prof~stonal staffs of Cabarrus County, the City of Concord, the City of Kanuapolis, the Town of Harrisburg and the Tawn of Mount Pleasant have cooperatively prepared a Ur~fied Development Ordinance to serve as that land development code; and Whereas, the elected officials of Cabarms Co~ty, the Ci~ of Conch, ~e Ci~ of ~a~lis, ~e To~ of Ha~sb~s ~ ~e To~ ofMo~t Ple~t a~oim~ a St~ Co~ to work w[~ ~e pm~io~ s~ffs ~d ovc~ee ~e ~a~on of U~fled Developer O~n~cc ~d m~ rc~datio~ to ~e pt~g bo~ds elected offici&s; ~d Wherras, citizens and representativ~ of the building and development industry of Cabarrus County, the City of Concord, the City of K. annatmlis, tho Town of Herrisburg and the Town of Mount Pleasant have participated with the staffs and the Committee in the preparation of the Unified D~vdopment Ordinance; and V;h~.az, it is recognized by all those who have participated in the preparation of the Unified Development Ordinanc~ that there is a need to provide for coordineted ~nd cooperative ewluation and amend,neat ~ft~r its adoption and the Steering Committee recommends such to the el~t~ officials of Cabarrus Count, the City of Concord, the City of Kann~polis, the Town of H~vtsburg and tho Town of Mount Pleasant. IT HEREBY AOREED AND UNDEP.~TOOD by the elected oflidals of Cabarrus County, the City ct'Concord, the City of Kannapolis, the Town of Harrisburg and the Town cf Mount Pleasant tha~: Follow/il/. adoption of the Unified Development Ordinance, there will be a quarterly series of stelu~ and evalu~,tion reports regarding the UDO presented to the Steering Committee, the planning boards ~ the elected officials; and
