First, the data with an * is from 1996. Second, the probation entries with
an * are based on county of conviction. Both sets of numbers came from Research and
Planning for DOC.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Community corrections programs administered through state agencies but operated in the
county, such as regular probation/parole, intensive probation/parole, electronic
monitoring and community service, are available in Cabarrus County and have been
reviewed with the Advisory Board. The planned reorganization of the Division of
Community Corrections (formerly Adult Probation/Parole) and the way it will effect
service delivery were explained at a recent meeting.

Two state services used on a regular basis for Intermediate offenders in Cabarrus' County
are IMPACT and Dart-Cherry. In addition, a number of local services are utilized.
These services are described below, and other available services are listed.
