Implementation of these recommendations will move ITS beyond the hazardous <br />"band-aid" approach currently in use. Additionally, the need for daily contract <br />labor will be eliminated, which is projected to cost $180,000 for the last nine <br />months of this fiscal year. <br /> <br />A budget amendment in the amount of $77,700 is attached to enable funding of <br />the recommendations listed above. I urge your approval. A properly functioning <br />ITS Department is essential to the operation of county government. <br /> <br />For your information, there is some good news. Three of four vacancies in the <br />ITS Systems Division were recently filled, thanks in part to the more competitive <br />salary ranges adopted last October.
