Background and Objectives <br />~~~~~~~: ....... :. ; <br />............ · <br /> <br />Cabarms County is in the midst of a transition from a mainframe to a <br />Client/Server information delivery system for it's customer service base. <br />This new technology requires a different mix of skills in ITS, and may call <br />for a reorganization of duties. <br /> <br />In addition, there has been unacceptable turnover in key personnel, <br />generating a very high workload on the remaining employees and <br />impacting departmental plans along with customer expectations. <br /> <br />The objective of this project has been to help Cabarrus County ITS ensure that it <br />has a viable infrastructure for providing IT support to user departments and the <br />competitive ability to retain skilled employees. <br />This is a two-phased project. The initial phase was an interview of current ITS <br />employees and users. This was followed by an ITS benchmark study to compare <br />Cabarrus's salary structure to the IT marketplace. <br /> <br /> <br />
