ICABARBUSCOUN~I <br /> NORT~ CA~OtlNA <br /> <br />Memo for January 19th Meeting <br /> <br />January 7, 1999 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />RE: Sale of Lake Concord Property <br /> <br />Attached please find: <br /> <br />(1) 1/7/99 Correspondence from Grant Land Development Company <br />(2) 10/20/98 Authorization of Extension <br />(3) 7/13/98 Purchase Contract <br /> <br />As indicated in Mr. Bennett's letter, he seeks an extension of the closing on the property at Lake <br />Concord until July 30, 1999. <br /> <br />I am aware of his efforts, engineering work and other activities related to site analysis that have <br />been pursued on his behalf. The site does have significant permitting hurdles and approvals to <br />be resolved that are necessary prior to development. <br /> <br />If the Board sees Mr. Bennett's request as reasonable, I do not think it would be impractical to <br />grant the extension with a provision that the July 30th date be "THE" date this transaction would <br />be consummated or Mr. Bennett's deposit forfeited. <br /> <br />Respectfully, <br /> <br />FWC/sb <br />Attachments <br />cc: Duane C.
