Routine Outpatient Treatment <br /> <br /> For those clients diagnosed with a Substance Abuse disorder, but not Chemical <br />Dependency, Routine Outpatient Treatment (ROPT) will be provided. This group will <br />meet two times a week for one and one-half(l ½) hours. The duration of the group will <br />be a minimum of eight weeks. Groups will be primarily education focused utilizing topics <br />such as, but not limited to: Pharmacology of drugs; Affects of drugs on the body; Affects <br />of drugs on the family and community; Progression of addiction, The 12 steps; The <br />Recovery process; Cravings and management; Building a support system; and <br />Communication. A variety of teaching materials will be utilized including videos, <br />lectures, role playing and written assignments. SAIL has also developed an entire <br />treatment manual that provides continuity and quality materials for lectures and handouts. <br />The manual will be available to all counselors within the program to provide an orderly <br />progression of treatment. <br /> Clients will be required to attend three AA/NA meetings per week and family <br />members will be encouraged to attend two Alanon/Naranon meetings per week. Family <br />members will be required to attend a minimum of four multi-family groups during the <br />program. Clients will also be required to attend individual sessions weekly with their <br />counselor in order to allow for evaluation of treatment plan, further assessment, and <br />working won treatment goals. Failure to attend the required number of AA/NA meetings <br />or individual sessions will result in extension of ROPT. <br /> In order to complete ROPT, the client must have a minimum of 45 days of <br />abstinence from mood altering chemicals, a temporary sponsor from AA/NA, and have <br />been attending AA/NA meetings regularly for 45 days. The client will receive a <br />minimum of 52 hours of contact. Urine will be tested on a regular basis through the <br />probation department. All clients will be reviewed on a weekly basis in a treatment team <br />meeting. Upon completion of ROPT, the client will be transferred to Continuing Care. <br /> <br />Intensive Outpatient Treatment <br /> <br /> Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOPT) will be designed for the client who suffers <br />from Chemical Dependency. It is designed to give the client the necessary skills in order <br />to maintain long term sobriety. <br /> IOPT will consist ora minimum of eight weeks of intense treatment. The group <br />will meet three times a week for three hours. The first one and one-half hour (1 72) will <br />consist of education. The topics covered during education will include, but are not limited <br />to Pharmacology of drugs; Affects of drugs on the body; Affects of drugs on the family <br />and community; Progression of addiction; The 12 steps; The recovery process; Cravings <br />management; Building a support system; and Communication. A variety of teaching <br />materials will be utilized including videos, lectures, role-play, and written assignments. <br />Again, the SAIL counselor handbook will be made available and use encouraged to help <br />provide a smooth progression of treatment materials. The second half of the treatment <br />session will be group therapy. The focus of group will be processing assignments. Most <br />clients will be required to complete an autobiography and workbooks on the first three <br />steps of the 12-step'program Many clients will be given additional assignments resulting <br /> <br /> <br />
