PLANNING STAFF REPORT TO
CABARRUS CO. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Monday, April 19, 1999

St~0l' Use Only:
Approved:

Dcnicd:
l'ablcd:

Adequate Public Facilities Comments:

Note: The following comments were submitted by the referenced departments/agencies and pertain to
whether or not the services/facilities that each department provides are adequate to meet the demands of
the proposed development.

A preliminary OK from the following departments/agencies shouM in no way be construed as final
approval for a service or facility.

Water/Wastewater Provider: City of Concord, Mark Fowler

Please see attached letter from Mark Fowler to Gaillard Mervin.

Emergency Services: Dennis Mauney and Greg Walters

Emergency Services expressed concern over too many cul-de-sacs and only one entrance to this phase.
Porters Landing has two entrances off of Morrison Road. The Commission may want to consider
requesting that developer add an entrance off of Pioneer Mill Road. However, that request would raise
the additional concern of either buying more property or obtaining a R/W across other property.

EMS: Ron Harwood

EMS stated that this area of the County is one with few EMS calls, so the proposed subdivision wouldn't
pose additional problems for this service.

Erosion Control: Tony Johnson

NCDOT:

School District: Robert Kluttz

See Exhibit 2 for details.

Sheriff's Dept: Phil Patterson

Soil Conservation: Dennis Testerman

WSACC: Mark Lomax

Porters [,anding--.
