PROGRAM SUMMARY <br /> <br />S~tement of the P~blem: ~ concue te~olo~, ~scribe ~e ~veni~ j~$gce problem ~e program mten~ w addre::. <br /> <br /> Most of the high-risk youth who come to the attention of the courts have <br /> need of psychological assessment, case management, and individual, group, <br /> and family counseling. In addition, many have substance abuse problems as <br /> well as behavioral and emotional problems. There is also a significant need <br /> for assessment and treatment of sexually aggressive youth. Without <br /> appropriate intervention, the problems experienced by these youth and their <br /> families will increase. <br /> <br />Program Goal: S~tetheeffectthat~eprogram ~as$~nedtohaveonsolvi~theprob~m ~scribedabove. <br /> <br /> 1. Eligible youth referred by the Juvenile Court will receive comprehensive <br /> assessment and treatment services for mental, emotional and/or substance <br /> abuse problems. 2. A primary contact person will continue to be placed at <br /> the courthouse facility to ensure accessibility for consultation and <br /> familiarity with clients and court proceedings. 3. Sexually aggressive youth <br /> referred by the Juvenile Court will continue to receive assessment and <br /> treatment services. 4. Youth with identified with Substance abuse issues <br /> will be referred to Cabarrus Family Recovery Center to address these <br /> problems directly. <br /> <br />Ta~etPoplfla~o~:Describe~etarget~pulat~na~thestepsthatthe~o~am ~sta~n~ ~s~ret~tthetarget~pu~tion~se~ <br /> <br /> The target population is youth between the ages of 7 and 17 years who are <br /> exhibiting pre-delinquent, delinquent, substance abuse, or sexually <br /> aggressive behaviors. These youth will be authorized and referred by the <br /> Juvenile Court counselors. The program will service approximately 28-32 clients at any time with a <br /> total of 80-96 clients receiving services. <br />2. Fifty percent of clients involved in services will complete the services <br /> and show reduction in inappropriate behavior (runaway behavior, school <br /> suspensions, and school expulsions). <br /> 3. Training school adauiasions of clients in the program will decrease or <br /> continue to be less than 10% for clients completing the program. <br /> 4. Data collection on involvement, frequency, and treatment outcomes is <br />~ollected. Youth who become clients of Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare will <br />nave treatment records that will be maintained in compliance with North <br />Carolina Division of MH/MR/SAS and CBA standards. All CBA forms for <br />reporting, billing, and progress will be used. <br /> <br /> <br />
