Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Subject: Master Plan Rewrite Including Water Supply Plan <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Clifton: <br /> <br /> The Board of Directors (Board) of the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus <br />County (WSACC), at its meeting on April 15, 1999, approved the establishment of a <br />Steering Committee (Committee) to coordinate the rewrite of the Water and Sewer <br />Master Plan (Master Plan) that was originally based upon 1993-1994 data. The rewrite <br />and update of the Master Plan is to include an evaluation and prioritization of additional <br />water supplies for Cabarrus County (County). <br /> <br /> The purpose of the Committee will be to develop thc scope of work, prepare a <br />request for proposal (RFP), evaluate the proposals and select a firm to recommend to the <br />Board for preparation of the Master Plan update. The Committee will work with the firm <br />dunng the development of the Master Plan update to ensure that all information is <br />supplied in an accurate and timely manner to help minimize cost. The Committee will <br />also review the draft repo~x to ensure that the data presented is accurate and to evaluate <br />the conclusions and recommendations. The initial Master Plan was also prepared under <br />the supervision of a steering committee. <br /> <br /> The WSACC Board approved the following composition of the Committee and <br />requests that the jurisdictions of the City of Concord (Concord), the City of Kannapolis <br />(Kannapolis) and the County each make a maximum of three (3) appointments based <br />upon the following criteria: <br /> <br />· A representative <br />· A representative <br />· A representative <br /> <br />from the governing Board <br />from the water and sewer utilities department <br />from the planning department <br /> <br /> The Town of Mt. <br />(Harrisburg) are requested <br />following criteria since the <br />Mt. Pleasant: <br /> <br />Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant) and the Town of Harrisburg <br />to appoint two (2) representatives each based upon the <br />County planning department also represents Harrisburg and <br /> <br />· A representative from the governing Board <br />· A representative from the water and sewer utilities department <br /> <br /> <br />
