Automatic External Defibrillator Purchase Project <br /> <br />Project Objectives <br /> <br />Cabarrus County EMS is initiating a project to purchase at least one AED for each <br />First Responder organization and AED training aids for the Rowan-Cabarrus <br />Community College, The Cannon Foundation can be instrumental in funding this <br />project. Time is of the essence as the quote given below, which includes a sizable <br />discount, expires on December 31, 1999. <br /> <br />Project Needs <br /> <br />Cabarms County EMS is seeking funding for all the project costs given below in <br />the Project Budget. However, the minimum need for the project is funding for <br />departments to which the AED cost represents a significant portion of their annual <br />operating budget and funding for the training aids to be used by the community <br />college. <br /> <br />Project Specifics <br /> <br />A committee of the advisory board has researched [he types of AEDs available <br />and has selected what it feels is the "best of breed" device, a HeartStream <br />ForRunner (See attached fact sheet). A local sales representative, Rick Eagle with <br />Southeastern Emergency Equipment, has also been selected as a result of his <br />willingness to give a what we feel is a substantial quantity discount on the AED <br />and a set of starter supplies (See the attached copy of the quote). <br /> <br />Project Budget <br /> <br />The following represents a budget for eighteen (18) AEDs, starter supplies for the <br />AEDs, and three (3) sets of training aids.
