Parb Division

Located near the center of Cabarrus County,
Frank Liske Park consists of 178 acres and of-
fers a wide range of passive and active recrea-
tional opportunities. Picnic facilities are avail-
able for family and company outings; athletic
facilities include a softball complex, soccer
fields, tennis courts, and fitness trail; a minia-
ture golf course, 9-acre lake for fishing and pad-
dleboating, amphitheater, nature trail, horse-
shoes, and sand volleyball courts provide activi-
ties for the entire family.

Frank Liske Park serves as the host site of
various special events and classes offered by
the department and other agencies including
Sum-More Fun Day Camp, WesternFest, Holi-
day Highlight, and the Indian Pow Wow.

Total Park Visitation 154,210

Jehool Park~

The Parks and Recreation Department and the
Cabarrus County and City of Kannapolis
Boards of Education have been improving the
quality of the 30+ playgrounds and parks Io-
cated at schools throughout the county.

Since a school campus with a park typically has
more facilities for its students and the commu-
nity to use than what the school system alone
can afford, the community, the school system,
and the Parks and Recreation Department all
benefit from the school park concept.
