Grist, Director <br /> Cabarrus County Board of Elections <br /> <br />Filing for the 2000 Candidates for Cabarrus County Register of Deeds and County <br />Commissioners begins on January 3, 2000 at 12 o'clock noon and closes February 7, <br />2000 at 12 o'clock noon. This office will need directions in establishingfilingfees for the <br />above offices. <br /> <br />Pursuant to G.S. 163-107.-At the time of filing a Notice of Candidacy for nomination for <br />any legislative or county office each candidate for such office shall pay to the County <br />Board of Elections of the county of their residence a filing fee of one percent of the <br />annual salary of such office: <br />Provided, that all candidates for nomination for any county office operated on a fee basis <br />shall pay to the county board of elections a flat filing fee as follows: county <br />commissioners, ten dollars ($10.00); county board of education, five dollars ($5.00); <br />sheriff, and register of deeds, forty dollars ($40.00), plus one per cent (1%) of the income <br />of the office above four thousand dollars ($4,000.00); and any other county office on a <br />fee basis, twenty dollars ($20.00), plus one per cent (1%) of the income of the office <br />above two thousand dollars ($2,000.00). The filing fees which shall be paid by <br />candidates for a county office operated on a part salary and part fee basis shall be one <br />percent (1%) of the first annual salary received and shall not include any fees received. <br /> <br />Thank you for your attention to this matter. <br /> <br />Filing.canal\99 <br /> <br /> <br />
