Once appointed this board will review the needs, develop plans to meet those needs, and <br />submit to the commission a Community Based Corrections Action Plan for their approval <br />and submission to the Department of Corrections for funding. <br /> <br />The only cost to the co.u, nty (25 % ma!ch) that I see is to hire someone to do the statistical <br />fact fihding tb support whatever action plan the community board submiD. A~thi~ tilB¢_l <br />do not believe that we would need this position since ,,the information to sUl2port funding <br />f_o~r Men.ta!, ,Health to increase ?l~e{r services is readily availabl'e from the probation and <br />mental health agencies. -- <br /> <br />Further, l~wwould not support the funding of any local pos.i, tion needed to look after the <br />program: My direction in this e'i~brt is to obtain funding to meet a known problem. <br /> <br />The agency heads we met with seem to agree on this approach and if appointed to the <br />board they would focus their efforts in that direction. <br /> <br />I have attached a copy of the statute and copies of a presentation that explains the <br />program. <br /> <br />If you have any questions please let me know soon so we can get this on the March board <br />meeting agenda for a vote of the board to create the County Criminal Justice Partnership <br />Advisory Board.
