The Property Maintenance Division is responsible for landscape and parking <br />lot maintenance for all county owned properties. These prope~ies include <br />the Governmental Center, Senior Center, Courthouse, Sheriff's Department <br />and Training Center, Historic Courthouse, Morris Building, Health <br />Department and Annex, Cabarms Avenue Office Complex, General Services, <br />Animal Shelter, Kannapolis and Mt. Pleasant Libraries, Landfill Office, <br />Lake Concord Dam and boat house area, and three (3) EMS stations. <br /> <br />Other responsibilities include maintenance and repair of county school <br />athletic fields, including tuff maintenance, infield grading, fencing, lighting, <br />base repairs and lining of fields for softball, baseball and soccer. Soccer <br />and softball play and practice fields are maintained on a daily basis during <br />each respective sport season. Additional responsibilities are tuff irrigation, <br />drainage, fence repairs, fertilization, herbicide and insecticide applications, <br />turf and plant bed renovations, mulching, pruning, leaf and snow removal, <br />and litter control and planting. All outside maintenance is both preventive <br />and corrective in nature. <br /> <br />Cooperative efforts with contractors allow for larger projects to be <br />accomplished. Several of these include: landscaping, repairing parking <br />lots, striping parking lot at the new Human Services Building; landscaping <br />berm, drainage control, addition of top soil, and tufting at the new Rocky <br />River Elementary School. <br /> <br />Other assignments include working with the Recreation DivisiOn on special <br />events, assisting outside groups when possible, special projects, and acting <br />as a resource to the community. <br /> <br /> <br />
