The final <br />cover will consist of a minimum of 2 feet of compacted soil. The final cover will be <br />vegetated with native grasses within six months following closure. <br /> <br />1.5 Operating Equipment <br /> <br />The proposed C&D landfill will be operated with equipment owned by the landfill owner. A <br />dozer or track loader and two compactors will be used for operation of the C&D landfill. A <br />scraper will also be on site for placement of cover soils. <br /> <br />1.6 Training of Facility Personnel <br /> <br />Due to the diversity of job tasks required at C&D landfills and the critical nature of the <br />landfill components, personnel should be properly trained to handle the operation and <br />maintenance of the facility. Some of the critical tasks include: <br /> <br />Maintenance of storm water control devices; <br /> <br />Accurate records of waste loading (quantitative and qualitative); <br />Identification of hazardous and liquid wastes; and <br /> <br />Control of accidental fires. <br /> <br />The Operations Manager should have a general understanding of all the tasks required for <br />site operations. He should have individuals performing the vadous tasks that have had <br />training for the specific tasks they are assigned through programs offered by the State or by <br />organizations such as SWANA. <br /> <br />The proposed management staff for this facility are propedy trained for operation and <br />maintenance of a C&D landfill. The staff includes Mr. Larry Griffin, Sr., owner and operator <br /> <br /> <br />
