Cabarrus C&D landfill & Recycling Center <br />Operations Plan <br /> <br />Job No. 98001 <br /> 02/12/98 <br /> <br />The attendant will also reside at the on-site residence and will be available after normal <br />operating hours. <br /> <br />2.4 Erosion/Sedimentation Control Maintenance <br /> <br />Erosion/sedimentation control structures include sediment basins and diversion ditches. <br />Sedimentation basins shall be checked after periods of significant runoff. Sediment shall be <br />removed from the basin to its original dimensions when sediment accumulates to' one half <br />of the design depth. The sedimentation basin embankments, spillways and outlets shall <br />also be inspected for erosion, damage. All necessary repairs shall be made immediately. <br /> <br />Any trash or debris within the sedimentation basin riser shall be removed. <br /> <br />Diversion ditches shall be inspected for damage after each runoff event. Riprap-lined <br />channels and outlet protection used to prevent damage to channel vegetation shall be <br />inspected for wash-outs. Riprap shall be added to these areas.as needed to maintain the <br />integrity of the structure. <br /> <br />Embankment and landfill cover slopes shall be periodically inspected for erosion. The <br />slopes shall be mowed no more than twice a year. The embankment slopes shall be re- <br />fertilized in the second year unless vegetation growth is fully adequate. The damaged <br />areas shall be reseeded (permanent seeding for embankment s(opes and temporary <br />seeding for landfill cover slopes), fertilized and mulched immediately. Seeding, fertilizing <br />and mulching shall be in accordance with the North Carolina Erosion and Sedimentation <br />Control Guidelines. <br /> <br />2.5 Landscaping Maintenance <br /> <br />Landscaping maintenance will generally include the entranceway.
