As of the date it recommended this plan to the Board of Commissioners, the Committee had met three times, once for orientation, role definition, and development of a plan of work; once for a work session around the identification of community resources; and once to review the plan draf~ and develop recommendations regarding the future role of the Committee. At its last meeting, the Committee detemfined that in relation to the implementation of the county's plan, it could help further with the identification, development, and coordination of community services; assist with adjushuent of the plan to any changes the state may require; and provide input into the development of procedures and standards for use in conducting appeal hearings. In order to secure pubhc comment, copies of the plan were made available for pubhc review at the Depa.'haent of Social Services from 1-12-98 through 1- 20-98. The pubhc was made aware of the planning process through the .. televising of Board of Commissioner meetings at which progress reports were made and through newspaper coverage of the planning process. Cabarrus County plans to implement the Work First Program Block Grant Plan in it's entirety on July 1, 1998. All provisions of the Plan will be implemented effective that dat~ V.
