(d) First responder personnel will not be exempt from any rules, regulations, or duties of their <br />sponsoring organization. <br /> <br />(Ord. of 12-7-92(2), § 5) <br /> <br />Sec. 26-56. Standards for Communications. <br /> <br />First responders will be controlled under all current FCC and county fire department radio <br />procedures. <br /> <br />(Ord. of 12-7-92(2), § 6) <br /> <br />Sec. 26-57. Standards for Dispatch. <br /> <br />(a) County first responder-agencies will respond on a 24-hour basis. <br /> <br />(b) County communications will dispatch first responders to respond to accidental or medical <br />emergencies. <br /> <br />(c) The first responder agency or individual will not respond to any calls for assistance unless <br />they notify the county communications center. ', <br /> <br />(d) Any calls received personally by a first responder agency or individual must be reported first <br />to the county communications center before first responders respond to the call. <br /> <br />(e) The first responder or agency will only be dispatched to emergency situations in their <br />designated first responder area, unless an emergency situation arises where their assistance will <br />be needed. <br /> <br />(f) No first responder or agency will be allowed to cancel a dispatched ambulance unless a <br />patient release has been obtained by the first responder or unless the call is unfounded. If an <br />ambulance is cancelled, the person canceling must identify himself/herselfi <br /> <br />(g) A first responder or agency will be allowed to cancel a rescue unit that has been dispatched to <br />an entrapment or pin-in, if the situation no longer exists. If rescue is cancelled, the person <br />canceling must identify himself/herself. <br /> <br />(h) No more than four first responders per patient shall be at the emergency scene unless the <br />conditions warrant additional first responders. If more than the required number first responders <br />appear at the scene, they shall: <br /> <br />(1) Be held in reserve in case their services are required. <br /> <br />(2) Provide traffic control. <br /> <br />i) If at any time a county emergency medical service vehicle arrives on the scene before the first <br />responder, they may, at their discretion, cancel the first responder en route or slow their <br />response. <br /> <br />(Ord. of 12-7-92(2), § 7) <br /> <br /> <br />
