Proposed 10/19/98 <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br /> found to be at fault in a traffic accident or violation while <br /> performing their duties as a county employee. <br /> <br /> 3. All employees involved in accidents where there are life <br /> threatening injuries or death. <br /> <br /> 4. Any employee when there is reasonable suspicion to believe that <br /> he or she violated the policy by observed actions or physical <br /> evidence. <br /> <br />Examples: Staggering, glassy-eyes, appears to be off in space <br />when talking or working. <br />The County Manager or his or her designee shall require employees <br />holding Safety-Sensitive Positions (law enforcement officers, emergency <br />medical technicians, any employee operating a vehicle owned by the <br />county or personal vehicle which is used as a major part of their work and <br />all others designated by the County Manager) to submit to random testing <br />for the presence of alcohol and controlled substances. Employees who <br />have been determined to have violated the Policy will be terminated. <br />Penalties for Non-Compliance <br /> <br />Any employee who violates this Policy would be subject to penalties described in <br />Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance (Effective February 1, 1998), Article VII, <br />Separation, Disciplinary Actions, Suspensions and Reinstatement, Section 2 (c) <br />Disciplinary Actions, Category Three. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
