sCabarrus County <br /> heriff's <br /> <br /> ON THE RETIREMENT OF <br />JOSEPH A. COOK, LIEUTENANT <br />CABARRUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br /> <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF RETIREMENT 11-1-98 <br /> <br />Joe Cook began his career with the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office on August 1, 1973. <br /> <br />He had served in the United States Army National Guard. <br /> <br />Joe and his wife Brenda, have a son Phillip and a daughter Dawn. They have 3 grand <br />children. <br /> <br />Joe began work at ~e Sheriff's Office as a patrol officer and later moved to the <br />Communications Division where he worked for a number of years. He was then <br />promoted to Detective where he served for about 6 years before being promoted to Patrol <br />Division Lieutenant where he served until his-retirement.: <br /> <br />During his time with the department Joe continued his education earning this Associates <br />Degree in Police Science from Central Piedmont Community College. He has also <br />completed well over 1000 hours of specialized training in law enforcement related <br />subjects. <br /> <br />Joe is an outstanding law enforcement professional and has served the citizens of <br />Cabarrus County in an exemplary manner for over 25 years. <br /> <br />Joe Cook is the kind of individual that carried out his duties in a quiet manner never <br />drawing attention to himself while helping others grow and succeed in the profession. <br />He could always be counted to get the job done in an outstanding manner. <br /> <br />I can honestly say that Joe has given unselfishly of his time and efforts for the benefit of <br />the department in service to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />We congratulate him on his retirement and wish him well in his future endeavors.
