VOTING PROCEDURES LEGISLATIVE GOALS CONFERENCE JANUARY 14-15, 1999 1. Voting Each member county represented is entitled to cast one vote on goals presented at the Conference. A county's vote may be cast by any properly designated county official (voting delegate or alternate) in attendance at the meeting. 2. Legislative goals (1) Legislative goals recommended by the Board of Directors shall be adopted upon receipt of a majority of votes cast; and may be amended by a majority of votes cast. (2) Legislative goals not recommended by or not submitted to the Board of Directors must be presented to the presiding officer or to either co-chair of the Legislative goals committee by 11:00 a.m. on the first day of the Legislative goals conference. The general subject matter of these goals will be announced at the conclusion of the first day of the conference. (3) (4) Goals submitted in accordance with paragraph (2) above shall be reviewed by the goals Screening Committee composed of the chairs of the six steering committees and the co-chairs of the Legislative Goals committee. The Screening Committee shall be chaired by the First Vice-President. The Screening Committee shall recommend approval or disapproval of each goal submitted in accordance with paragraph (2) above. Legislative goals submitted in accordance with paragraph (2) above and reviewed and recommended for approval by the Screening Committee in accordance with paragraph (3) above shall be adopted upon receipt of a majority of votes cast; and may be amended by a majority of votes cast.
