hotel/motel incentive package, as of tonight with the industrial incentive <br />program to be thoroughly reviewed by the Board in the near future. <br /> <br />Leaislative Goals/Leaisla~iv9 Goals Conference <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart asked that consideration of proposed Legislative <br />Goals and the appointment of the voting delegate to the North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners Legislative Goals Conference be included <br />on the Deter%her 21'~ agenda. <br /> <br /> Copies of the Association's proposed legislative goals will be <br />distributed to the Board for review. Also, Mr. Clifton asked that Board <br />members submit information for distribution regarding any legislative items <br />that they wish to see considered at the State level. <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Chairman Barnhart opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments. <br /> <br /> Ms. Marilyn Barnhardt of 5800 Wabash Lane, Concord, complained about <br />the lack of protection for North Carolina homebuyers against poor <br />construction by contractors and homebuilders. She specifically expressed . <br />concern about those contractors and builders who have gone out of business. <br />She also stated the need for a lottery in North Carolina. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell discussed the methods of recourse for homebuyers, <br />specifically in regard to the warranties associated with home construction or <br />purchase contracts. <br /> <br />Ad4ournment <br /> <br /> U~ON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
