P~F-~ OLUT~ON <br /> OF <br />KANNAPOLIS CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the K,annapolis City School Administrative Unit encompasses a portion of <br />Cabarrus County and Rowan County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 115C. Section 38 of the North Carolina General Statutes provides <br />that the tax-levying authorities for local school administrative units may fix the compensation and <br />expense allowances paid members of the boards 6f education 0flocal school administrative units; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of County Commissioners and the Rowan County <br />Board of County Commissioners are the taX-levying authorities for the Kannapolis City School <br />Administrative Unit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. the members of the Cabarrus County Board of Education receive monthly <br />stipends as compensation for their services as board members, and are reimbursed for various <br />,expenses incurred in connection with their official duties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of the Rowan County Board of Education receive monthly <br /> stipends as compensation for their services as board members, and are reimbursed for vari6us <br /> expenses incurred in connection with their official duties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, members of the boards of education of most school administrative units in <br /> North Carolina receive compensation for their services as board members, and are reimbursed for <br /> various expenses incurred in connection with their official duties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. it is the consensus of the members of the Kannapolis City Board of <br /> Education that fai'r and appropriate compensation should be paid to Board of Education members <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
