Page Two Continued <br />Cabarrus County Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />1996 Annual Report <br /> <br />Assisted in Grievance and complaint resolution with families, residents, <br />and facilities. <br /> <br />Attended the four (4) quarterly training and business meetings with the <br />Ombudsman. <br /> <br />9. Assisted with Christmas functions and other activities in nursing <br /> <br />facilities. <br /> <br />10. Supplied personal care items to several nursing facility residents. <br /> <br />11. Conducted quarterly nursing facility residents' rights monitoring <br /> visits. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Participated in a variety of church, civic, and community-related <br />activities and are members of a variety of community agencies and <br />organizations. <br /> <br />13. Continued visibility and contacts in facilities due to nursing home <br /> <br /> enforcement regulations. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following strengths during the year: <br /> <br />1. Assisted with many extra time-consuming activities. <br /> <br />2. Continued to support the Cabarrus County Long Term Care Administrators' -- <br /> group that met quarterly. <br /> <br />3. Functioned as a committed, hard-working group. <br /> <br />4. Active full membership enabled the NHCAC to function more efficiently_ <br /> and added stability to the group. <br /> <br />5. Faithful attendance and participation at quarterly meetings and in <br /> quarterly facility visits by dedicated members. <br /> <br />6. Good consistent working relationship with the Ombudsman. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following problems during the year: <br /> <br />1. Continued need to provide more timely education to new County <br /> Commissioners about the NHCAC and the Ombudsman Program. <br /> <br /> <br />
