It will be a "lose - lose" proposition. Therefore, it is
incumbent upon the private sector a~d the County to strive for
answers to problems associated with growth.

The Association supports reasonable efforts to regulate growth.
However, money is always at the crux of problems related to growth,
and Cabarrus County is no exception. The Association supports a
local option sales tax, and the real issue has always been whether
revenue should come from a "broad based" tax or a "narrow based"
tax. Perhaps we can move beyond this impasse. The Association
wants to participate in positive solutions to the problems created
by growth, and we look forward to sitting down with you and
discussing these problems.

Very truly yours,

JES/
