was noted to "smoke" when the breaker was turned on and electrical arcing could be heard inside. <br />As required in Chapter 7 of the North Carolina Building Code, Volume V, Fire Prevention, these <br />conditions were brought to the attention of the Cabarrus County Building Inspection Department. <br />The temporary wiring is only allowed during construction, demolition, remodeling, repair or <br />demolition of buildings. The wiring must be attached to the structure in an approved manor. <br /> <br />Flammable/combustible liquids and corrosives were noted in the building. A hazardous material's <br />identification placard attached tO the structure also warns of storage inside. This storage will need <br />to be removed from the building. Evideflce of vagrant usage of this structure, (clothing, etc... ), <br />was also found. A further potential problem exits with the possible presence of asbestos on the <br />heating system and other items in the structure. <br /> <br />Due to the conditions found within the building's the Cabarrus County Building Inspection <br />Department was notified. Their inspectors said that the building was structurally unsound and would <br />be condemned. The condition of the buildings also prevented them from completely viewing the <br />structure. They requested that the electrical power for the building be cut offto prevent a possible <br />fire. <br /> <br />No Interior Fire Attack <br />Due to conditions found as the result of this inspection and as noted above, it is recommended that <br />signage indicating "No Interior Fire Attack" be attached to the building. This will warn fire <br />suppression personnel of the danger of the structure and prevent possible injury from offensive type <br />operations at this structure. <br /> <br />CC: <br /> <br />Chief T.R.
