ICASAftlIUS COUN~I <br /> NOR[It CIROLINA <br /> <br />May 13,1997 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />RE: Changes to Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance <br /> <br />The attached Personnel Ordinance changes are in keeping with discussions held at the April Board <br />meeting. Additionally, it is my understanding the County Commissioners may desire to add existing <br />retirees to this program. SheriffCanaday has sent you a memorandum on the issue. If the Board <br />does choose to add existing retirees, it might be proper to consider adding them at some reduced level <br />of benefit (i.e., 50% of health/life insurance cost). <br /> <br />These retirees would be phased out of the pool of retirees as they become eligible for <br />Medicare/Medicaid coverage. The initial cost of extending this benefit to existing retirees (at 50% <br />level) would be $I5,000/year.
