The Breaking Up of a Happy Office Family

On May 30, 1997, our office "family" will be broken-up by the retirement of its eldest
member, Katherine Vincoli. Katherine Vincoli, mother of 4, grandmother, active member of St.
James Catholic church is retiring from her position as Deputy Tax Collector I. Katherine has
only been in "the family" for five years, but what years they have been. The job skills, which
she has had to learn, are many. Our computer system is drastically different from any that she
had ever used, but, she accepted the challenge with strong determination. Not only did she have
to master ambulance billing procedures and insurance filing, tax laws had to be learned so that
she could answer tax questions by confused callers. Our office has been fortunate to have an
employee, like Katherine, who projects only the finest qualities of leadership, understanding and
advice. Invaluable is the work which best describes Katherine as she assists her co-workers in all
areas of office business. Stress is the word which best describes the period of time, during lunch,
when all of the phones ring at once. Katherine handles these times with poise, courteousness and
patience, whether the questions asked are simple or the more mentally demanding questions
which would take a "Bill Campbell" to answer.

Katherine has worked closely with Information Services to establish an ambulance
system which maximizes the efficiency of the department. Her foresight, in this area, is an
undeniable asset for future ambulance collections.

Each spring, our office joins the March of Dimes drive in an effort to help fight birth
defects. For the year of 1997, Katherine was our chairperson. She provided the kind of quality
leadership that made our campaign successful. Through her tireless efforts, she organized the
walk and planned delicious meals which were offered to anyone who wanted to make a
contribution to the March of Dimes.

What a fun loving lady she is and a natural practical joker! Katherine always has a
friendly smile and a hug that shows her affection, compassion and concern when someone is
feeling a little sad or depressed. She is a Christian lady whose heart is as big as the world.
"Others Before Self" is HER Motto. I count it a blessing to call her friend.

We are grateful to have had Katherine in our department and wish her the best that life
has to offer.

Katherine, Thank you for being the kind of employee that makes Cabarms County proud.
