293 <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br /> There was general discussion about the proposed educat£on budget for FY <br />1997-98. including the varying methods of figuring per pupil expenditures, how <br />co measure the percentage of change involving growth and CPI, comparisons of per <br />pupil funding of surrounding counties, the total County expenditure for public <br />schools and the need to support the proposed legislation for the local option oue <br />cent sales tax. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Mills asked Hr. Clifton to prepare a plan to give parents who <br />send their children to private school or home school an incentive or rebate on <br />their property taxes related ~o per pupil current expense funding. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 P.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
