CABARRUS COUNTY SI:IERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br /> CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br /> <br />Bids will be opened at the time and place shown on the enclosed Invitation to Bid notice. <br />Late bids will not be opened or considered. <br /> <br />Bids will be examined promptly at~er opening and an award made at the earliest possible <br />date. <br /> <br />BOND REQUIREMENTS: <br /> <br />BID DEPOSIT: All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit. NOTE <br />CAREFULLY... This deposit may take the form of cash, certified check, ca.qhier's check, <br />or bond, and must be in the amount of at least 5% of the bid. The bond must be "executed <br />by a corporate Surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina" to execute such bonds: <br />(G.S. 143-129). The cash, ca.qhier's check, or certified check may be retained if the <br />successful bidder fails to enter into the proposed contract. <br /> <br />The above bid deposit is required by State Law and may not be modified. Bidders should <br />therefore comply with this requirement carefully and specifically. Ifa bid bond is utili~.ed, <br />the Surety must be a corporate Surety authorized to do business in North Carolina. <br /> <br />Bank money orders, uncertified checks, telegraphic money orders, etc., are not acceptable <br />form~ of bid deposits. <br /> <br />Biddeposits of unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as the contract is awarded. <br />The successful bidder's deposit will be returned upon proper and complete execution of <br />the contract. <br /> <br />All bids of $30,000.00 or more require County Commissioners' approval. Once bids'are <br />opened, final Commissioners' approval will be requested at the next regular meeting <br />thereof. <br /> <br />Bids shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder taking into consideration quality, <br />past perfm i;:ance and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the <br />contract. <br /> <br />Each bidder shall submit a proposal on the enclosed bid Sllmmary sheet provided. The bid <br />must be signed by an authorized official of the firm. Bids may be rejected if they show any <br />omissions, alterations of from, additions not called for, conditional bid, or any <br />irregularities of any kind. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
