It further reserves the right to <br />waive formalities and technicalities insofar as it is authorized to do so, where it deems it <br />advisable in protection of the best interest of the County. <br /> <br />Questions concerning bid requirements or specifications should be directed to the <br />Cabarrus County Sheriffs Office, c/o L.S. Anderson, Chief~ P.O. Box 525, Concord, <br />North Carolina 28026-0525, (704) 788-3108. All changes in the specifications shall be in <br />writing in the form of an addendum and furnished to all bidders. Verbal information <br />obtained otherwise will not be considered in awarding of bids. No changes to <br />specifications will be permitted within five (5) days prior to bid openings. If you prefer to <br />mail your bid, please send it to the above address in a sealed envelope and specify, "Bid <br />for Cabarms County Sheriffs UniForms" on the outside of the envelope. <br /> <br />It is the County's policy to finnish a bid tabulation to all bidders requesting same upon <br />notification of award or upon returning bid deposits. All bidders are welcome to attend <br />bid openings. <br /> <br />Bidders must complete all blanks where requested and provide both ,,nit and extended <br />prices. This contract will be let by Cabarrus County to expire June 30, 1998. The unit <br />prices of each article will be a fi, m price during the contract. The County reserves the <br />right to renew for one (1) consecutive 12 month tetm~ Bids submitted incomplete are <br />subject to rejection. <br /> <br />Specifications enclosed herein are intended to obtain competitive bids. Brand names are <br />included and substitutions will be not be accepted. Samples of trousers and shirts, one <br />~hirt (long or short-sleeved) MUST BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO THE BID OPENING. · <br /> <br />The uniform~ and accessories included in this bid package must be made available within a <br />30-mile radius of Concord, North Carolina. That is, the successful bidder will make the <br />aforementioned unifot'ms and accessories available for pickup within the 30-mile radius or <br />the successful bidder agrees that local deliveries, including exchanges/refittings shall be <br />made at not expense to the purchaser. <br /> <br />It is the intention of the Sheriffs Office to completely outfit each member of the Cabarms <br />County Sheriffs Department at the be~nning of the contract, and to refer personnel to the <br />contractor for new and/or replacement uniforms and accessories as the need arises during <br />the contract period at the prices stated on the enclosed bid summary. In order to supply <br />uniforms promptly, the successful bidder will be required to stock all types of garments as <br />called for in the proposal and specifications. Stock will be interpreted as a minimum of <br />one-half(50%) of the quantity estimated for yearly con~amption and consisting of a <br />complete range of sizes. At the end of the contract period, the County accepts no <br />obligation to purchase the balance of the inventory remaining in stock by the contractor. <br />The successful bidder will be further required to furnish an experienced representative to <br />handle all measurements. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
