Property Maintenance

Property Maintenance is responsible for the mainte-
nance, set-up and care of all Cabarrus County school athletic
fields for soccer, baseball and softball. There were twenty
(20) baseball and softball fields used for the 1996 season.
Also responsible for the landscape maintenance of all county
owned properties.

Property Maintenance makes the major portion of re-
pairs on county owned equipment used in lawn and turf care.
Preventative maintenance is also performed.

Several times during the year, Property Maintenance
personnel are requested to assist in special events such as
setting-up tents, tables, chairs, picking up trash arid parking
automobiles.

In addition to the above list of responsibilities, Property
Maintenance is responsible for ice and/or snow removal at
the Ambulance Stations and county properties, as well as
parking lot repairs, re-stripping and re-design.

All fertilization, seeding, aeration, irrigation and irri-
gation repairs, pruning, applications of herbicides, and in-
secticides are Property Maintenance responsibilities.

Due to the number of tasks required of Property Main-
tenance to perform with only five full time employees, we
are greatly dependent on Community Service volunteers to
accomplish our tasks.

A sense of loyalty to the job and to the citizens of
Cabarrus County is what drives us to be successful.

11
